Visitor Guide to Disabled Access
The venues policy is to ensure all its visitors are welcomed equally
to the venue. Our staff have been made fully aware of
disability-related issues, but if you have any specific requests, we
would be very happy to help in any way that we can. In this case,
please contact us for further details about at the venue and how
we can help to make your visit access easy and enjoyable.

Location of the venue
The Racecourse can be found by following the brown signs to its location on the northern edge of Cheltenham on the A435 Evesham Road. On entering the Racecourse, the main parking area for each event will be signposted by venue staff. Stewards will normally be available to direct any visitors that have specific parking requirements.

Parking
Allocated parking areas are adjacent to the venue in the Festival Bowl area or Members car park, our stewards will direct you to the space and ensure that you are directed to the entrance. Alternatively, drop off points are available in front of the main entrance at Centaur, or at the Hall of Fame entrance which is the main entrance to the Grandstand and also gives access to the other function rooms including the balcony area of The Centaur. For collection, please contact the office for the event timings.

Seat available by reception desks
Our reception and information desks have a seat by them, if there is not then please ask the member of staff in attendance who will be able to supply one for you.

Adapted toilets
There are unisex adapted toilets in The Centaur's main Foyer, Istabraq bar, the Foyer under the Hall of Fame stairs and in the Conference & Events Office. The Grandstand rooms have adapted toilets outside their main function rooms.

Unaccompanied wheelchair users are welcome
The venue is suitable for wheelchair users who are travelling/visiting the venue on their own. There is a specific area on the balcony of the auditorium with lowered rails for viewing, and seats for a carer to join the wheelchair user. A lift is available to the first floor. Should you require any assistance then please contact the venue where we can allocate a member of staff to help you to your seat.

Lifts
The main Racecourse Grandstand has numerous lifts, with the main ones being at the end of the Hall of Fame with access to all five levels. The Centaur has a lift in the Entrance Foyer taking you into the Istabraq bar with access to the balcony and the Hall of Fame.

Hearing assistance systems
The Centaur has an in-house tannoy system and is linked to an infrared hearing system with headphones that can be used in the main auditorium. The induction loop system is linked to the Production PA for event/concert input and covers the whole auditorium. At present, both these systems must be used by the visitor at the same time, but we are looking to integrate into one system for ease of use. T loops are also available in the Entrance Foyer. There are currently no similar facilities in the Grandstand, however, if you have particular requirements we would be most pleased to discuss them with you.

Braille signs
The Centaur's main internal doors have Braille signage.

Assistance dogs
These are most welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times. It is recommended that they are not brought to the venue when a concert or event may cause distress to the animal.

Catering
Should you have any specific catering requirements, then please do not hesitate to contact us, as the venue's caterers Letheby and Christopher will be happy to discuss an alternative choice for you.

The Centaur has a First Aid room adjacent to the Entrance Foyer and the Main Grandstand has a room behind the SeeYouThen Bar. Should you feel unwell during your visit, please contact a member of staff who will locate our nominated first aider.
